A full day of family fun and giant auction will take place on Saturday, Aug. 21. The event, sponsored by St. Lukes United Methodist Church, will be held at 301 S. Lake Ave. in Crandon from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WENATCHEE Life Choices of Wenatchee Valley has planned a walk-a-thon and family fun day Saturday at Walla Walla Point Park. The walk-a-thon is planned from 9 to 11 a.m. on the two-mile loop.

The site preserves the 1882 Muir House, a 14-room mansion where naturalist John Muir lived from 1890 to his death in 1914. Also part of the site is the historic Martinez Adobe, where the two downstairs rooms have exhibits about John Muir, the Martinez family and early California history, and Mount Wanda, a 325-acre tract of oak woodland and grassland historically owned by the Muir family.
